What else can a photographer offer their clients?

I asked a question before, but written a different way, so I got different answers than what I was looking for.

I’m a photographer, and am not busy all the time. Shoots come up, I do them, I get paid. But they don’t come up all the time. Said another way, I have too much down time. And I need to fill it.

What other services can I offer clients? Is it feasible to say I can get 100 or 200 clients that need Photoshop services from time to time? Between all of them, I can actually have a business. If that’s not feasible, what else can I offer that’s photography skill related (meaning layout, photography, stock images (is anyone buying them anymore), photoshop services, etc.?

Thanks,

Jeff

The way i see it, Photoshop does the job, but you have to create it…

I’m in the signs business, i’m not a photograph… far from that!!

About 5 years ago, i started playing with some wedding pictures and Photoshop for fun.. I ended up reproducing the couple’s picture in the wine glass they we’re holding in their hand, toasting each other.

someone saw that picture and asked me to reproduce it with their wedding picture, and then another, and another…. till i said NO MORE..i don’t have time for this.. too busy in the signs business.

So play with Photoshop and your imagination, offer your services cheaper that the next guy if you have to, and make a name for yourself.

Mouth to Ear, that’s the secret to getting busy!

You gotta ‘love’ what you do to do it right, the rest comes alone.

Good Luck.

But not too cheap!

Never build a business on that basis. If your business is based on price, someone else will always come up with a cheaper price. Base your business on providing a quality service, and you will actually make a living at it.
