I wish I knew exactly how RST, BenDover, and Cindy did there work on Piccy. I give RST’s and Ben Dover’s work ties for 1st, and Cindy’s work get my second place vote for appeal. I see what Cindy was trying to do; she was trying to give us some facial tone in Piccy, but the chin comes out a bit weird with the exact shadow given. Great work and great attempts by all who did this challenge. I think RST’s comes closest to the true essence of what the photograph was when it was new. Ben-dover added some artistic affects that can’t be ignored – good work! Could RST, Ben Dover, and Cindy post their process for fixing. They did very professional work.

Thanks — Randyman

Seeing your web page is why I posted in the first place. Why not post how each of the best restorers did their work on the old photo, or add this info. to your web page. It would be a service. I repeat —-I wish I knew exactly how RST, BenDover, and Cindy did there work on Piccy.

Randyman, are you sure you

Randyman, are you sure youโ€™re not miss-reading the names at the bottom of each pic instead of at the top? Sie listed name, then photo.
If youโ€™re not, Iโ€™m curious why specifically (color, clarity, shading, poor clean-up, contrast etc.) you think the others are better than my version.

I told you you were no good at photos.

No hard feelings if you donโ€™t like my version, itโ€™s just that
to my eye (of course) my version is at least as good as the others.
Thanks for your reply :^)

Randyman screwed up!!! Shadowfax is tied with Tony Buflone for 1st, and RST’s pic is second place (chin is poor). Maybe David Robinson should get second place; he really did not fix the hair or the scarf well at all. Shadowfax’s photo is closest to what the original would have been. Tony got extra points for artistry. Cindy’s is 4th because she has no black and white ( a simple contrast change would make it better): the shadows are a little blotchy in the neck and on the left side of the face too. Gee — I had the names of the folks out of order. I see those who repaired were listed above the photo. Sorry all – esp. Shadowfax and Tony Buflone; all restore attempts are on a difficult subject, and all should be commended. Duh —-

Have a Great Week — Randyman

Just because you’re no good at anything, doesn’t mean you have to project your own failings on others.

Hell — I almost ruined your week; that really would blow a person’s mind. Sort of a neat practical joke on somebody though —if you didn’t let it go on for too many days. Take the worst and call it the best, and the make believe critic could use all kinds of artistic BS to justify the decision; then, after the best artist is ready to commit suicide say it was all a joke.
