Win XP, Photoshop Elements V4.0, HP 970Cse Inkjet Printer, 5×7 photo paper

My images are not printing on the full 5×7 photo paper.

5×7 is printing at 4 11/16 x 6 1/2
4×6 is printing at 3 11/16 x 5 7/16

Using standard editor when the image is first opened image/resize/image size indicates the image is 720 pixels wide X 540 pixels high
document size indicates 10"W x 7.5"H, resolution=72 pixels/inch print preview I choose "print size" to be 5×7
all other parameters left at default values
printer properties/preferences set accordingly except I do not have a 5×7 paper as a choice an am using 5×8 index card

Okay, here’s maybe a dumb idea. Set the size of the image over by however much it is under as a print size?

this is the photoshop forum. the elements forum is here:

you’ll likely get better help more specific to your program over there.

Most printers cannot print borderless. If yours is one of those, you are out of luck.

I just checked the manual for this printer here. <http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpd06955.pdf>

Note on page 72 it explains that this printer requires a border (about a quarter inch to 1/8 inch) on all pages.
