Hi there, my problem may sound ridiculus but I am having big headaches because of it. Here it goes I installed the try out version of Photoshop in order to see if it worked on my relative old computer, everthing was fine until I realize that the measures are "bad", I mean, I am trying to make my own DVD coers and you know that the measure to do one is 12cm, well, when I openend an A4 sheet to make 2 covers and then print them, whenever I did the square of 12×12, that square was 11x11cm instead. I had an old try out version (version 7) and my problem persisted so I dont know what to do. So, I want to do covers of 12×12 and isntead the guidelines only let me draw 11×11 squares. Sorry if my english is bad but well, I will write this in spanish too. I suspect is a problem with the A4 sheet but I dont know where is the option I have to change. Thanks in advance.
And here goes my spanish explanation:

Gracias

My PC is:

Windows XP serice pack 2
768 RAM
40 GB hard disk (10GB space free)
Ati Radeon 9600 Atlantis with 256RAM.
Photoshop try out cs2 or version 7

Lucia, what is your printer? It would appear that the printer driver is resizing the image to fit its layout settings.

How are you measuring in Photoshop? Which commands?

Can you write out the steps in your procedure one by one?

Also see if this article helps you at all (just a wild guess): http://www.digitalmastery.com/downloads/pdf/MagazineArticles /psuser51.pdf

Handy PDF, eh John?

I was really happy to discover Bert put that one online after I read it in PS User magazine, just so I could share it with others.

Handy PDF, eh John?

Yes. It revolutionised my understanding of that part of Photoshop.

A very clear explanation by Ben Willmore, I thought.

Hi, thanks for that idea but that is not the problem I have (from what I coould understand, that articule was really complicated…) Anyway, my print size seems to be ok, so. And for the drivers of the printer, I dont hae any drivers installed becuase I dont hae a printer in that PC (not even cutepdf).
Anyways, thanks for the idea, at least you tried to help me (all of you) and that is nice.

I’m not really sure what your problem is then 🙁

(from what I coould understand,
that articule was really complicated…)

Just follow it slowly step by step (even if English is not your primary language) and it’s clear enough.

I had to read it through 3-4 times to fully grasp it.
