I can not get online with the "help" icon in my photoshop 7.0. When It goes online, it says "loading….." and never loads. What am I doing wrong? SM

Which icon are you talking about? The one in the toolbar is not Help, it goes to the Adobe website. Help (F1) is in the Help menu.

Help in Photoshop 7 is not online, though it uses HTML files displaying in your browser, they are local. Do you have the Help folder in your Photoshop Program folder, with all the files in it?

You could try resetting/trashing Preferences. Also, you should update to 7.0.1.

How do I reset? I am saving money to get CS in a few months, I don’t know where to get 7.1. I bought 7.0 through ebay and paid $135.00 (full version unregistered) so I am tapped out for now. Yes, I looked in the help folder of photoshop 7.0 and it has lots of files. Please let me know how to reset the html files through my browser. Sandra

They should open with your default browser. Don’t know why they aren’t. Try right-clicking on help.html and choosing Open With and specifying your browser, check Always Use this…

The FAQs has info on resetting Prefs. Basically hold down Shift-Alt and Ctrl while starting up Photoshop.

The update to 7.01 is free. (Don’t think that was said.)
