I would find it really useful to integrate photoshop functionality into my CMS (website administration) system.
For instance to execute a photoshop action or script on a range of "top-of-page pictures" to apply a specific blend effect, gradient or likewise, or for advanced picture processing when uploading a picture, thereby allowing novice users to upload new pictures to the website, without any knowledge of image processing.
I have looked through the scripting guides the COM API etc, but as far as I can see (and all I have managed to get to work) is when using the functions from a STANDALONE application (meaning an .exe file), whereas all my attempts have failed when trying to use the function as part of a serverside web page. In my case this means ASP.Net.
I suppose the trouble is that all of the scripting and COM components, requires an active window instance of Photoshop, and this is not possible when the functions are activated from a service (such as the web service).
In short: Is there any way to integrate Photoshop directly into server-side web page processing ?
(Perhaps I am missing something completely here, because using google I have found absolutely no references to do anything like this, which kindof surprises me, because something like this would take a lot of manual work out of day-to-day website handling).
Best regards
Carsten
