PhotoShop CS2 Error !!

When I try to open a PNG file in my Photoshop CS2 I get an error, the error says: "Could not complete your request because the file format module cannot parse the file."

Can somebody pls help me ??

Just this .png file, or all .png files? Other files than .png’s?

Did it always do this or just start happening? If it’s new, try resetting Preferences as per the FAQs.

Just a guess, but look in the Photoshop folder in the Programs folder.In Adobe Photoshop Only there should be a File Formats folder and in it there should be png.8bi. Perhaps it has gone missing or is corrupted. You may newed to find it on the installation disk or reinstall if trashing prefs didn’t work.

EDIT: I don’t really think that’s the problem because I think that has to do with Saving, but worth looking at.
