Using CS2

How can I modify the image size property for the main photo? I do not want to have the scroll bars. I want it to be a fixed, given size.

Also using the Horizontal Slideshow, I wish to reduce the size of the sidebar where commets, etc are located. I cannot find where to do that either.

Lastly, my metadata does not display any info in the above mentioned sidebar. What could I be missing?

Thanks for any help!

Do you mean image size or view? They’re very different things (Ctrl-0 (zero) may do what you want)

I would have to say the view, as I am setting the image sizes as a Custom option during the setup for its processing. In the final product when viewing, you have a bottom and side scroll bar for the main image. The effects of the image are lost due to this.

You can modify the templates using an HTML editor. Then, when you save them back (under a new name) your modified template will be available in Web Gallery.

Check out the Help files (F1) more more on this and for the location of the relevent files.

Believe it or not, I have been trying to find the answer in the help files. I think I am having a click-impaired week, as I just keep going in circles in the help file and have not found it yet. It’s embarrassing to say that I need help with the help! Like I said, click-impaired this week! Must be the cold I have.

Type Web Gallery into the Help Centre search box. Customizing web gallery styles is the fourth item down.

The help pages don’t tell you how to modify the HTML, only how to replace tokens, change colours, how and where to save the relevent files to, etc. You’ll need to be comfortable with your HTML editor to modify the actual layout etc.

Best of luck with it.

Chris.

Too bad it does not tell you which of the many default html files in the copied directory to put the tokens in – or should I say, any real clues on what to edit to get desired results.

I have spent the last 12+ hours with GoLive and trial and error deleting/pasting to try to get it how I want it. I’ve wasted so much time, and I am still up the proverbial creek.

I size the now 1 column table in the SubPage at 808 x 608 (800 x 600 is my std image size, plus 4 pix border). I then size the first table in index.htm to same, and boom – it still has both scroll bars. So then I size this one for 816 x 616 just to test it. Nope, still have scroll bars.

All I want to do is get rid of the scroll bars for the main image and the thumbnails’ verticle scrollbars(yep, it gives that scroll bars, too!), plus have my file desc displaybed below the main image. Ideally I’d like to have the thumbnails top/down on the left hand side, but at this point I would settle for them being on the bottom.

Sounds simple emough, but I never worked with iframes before or anything like this where the main page is dependent upon all these sub pages. Like I said, all day and now well into the evening wasted on this. I guess I am going to google for more templates, as I cannot do this and don’t have any more time to waste.

Cheers,
Dobermann

Like I said: you need to be comfortable with HTML. This is not a Photoshop thing. Have you tried posting in any of the HTML forums?

Hi Guys,
I am hoping that you can help me.
Trying to create a web photo gallery. I go to bridge and go to Tools/phohoshop/web photo gallery , when photoshop opens I follow the file out the dialogue box with where to find folder and the destination folder, but when i click ok I get the following message, ‘Cannot complete request as file cannot be found" I have changed setting to get pics from folder and still i have the same problem.

I hope that you can help.

Hi Chris,

No, I have not tried posting in the HTML forums – that’s too logical <G>! I did, however, find a free template called Lightbox 2.0 that is so very nice. I decided to use it and just do slight modifications to the html files that it creates. It does a nice Flash fade in.

Thanks for your help,
Dobermann
