hello
at the levels tool you can use black, grey, or white
dropers to set, but in camera raw window,. how is sopose to be used the only one droper there is?

The levels tool is exactly that – it is intended to set the levels which are to be treated as full black, full white and mid grey and the luminosity is adjusted across the image to match. White balance is very different – it is to allow you to apply a correction to the relative levels of the colour channels to compensate for the colour content of the light source which was illuminating the subject – you try to identify a spot on the image which was white on the original subject and sample it with the dropper – then the software works out what the characteristics of the original illumination must have been and applies a compensating adjustment. If the programmers got it right, this should not result in any overall change in brightness…

i dont understand the droper at the camera raw window.
first, the instructions says:
that with the droper you can click either in gray or white?? how thats possible?? it should be in gray or white.
second: if i click in white the result is terrible all the image goes green.
i think that droper at camera raw is very bad explained, i wonder if somebody knows how it works

I was about to ask the same question and I realise I may be talking through my hat here but I have just gone through the Adobe Raw plugin tutorial where it said to set the white point by using the White Balance Tool. This value has to be a 3/4 grey value selected somewhere in the image.

My question is, how do I select a 3/4 grey portion of the image. Does a 3/4 grey have an RGB value?

Best wishes
