I have three pc’s all with Photoshop CS2 all giving the same problem.

Trying to edit Adobe PDF pages in Photoshop and it gives that error on all the PC’s. I tried installing the update that’s supposed to fix that, but I still get the error.

Help!

I seem to remember this coming up a long time ago. Have you searched the forum?

But…why are you doing this? Photoshop is not a PDF editor. If you need to fix a photo in a PDF open it in Acrobat Pro and use the touch up tools.

Thanks for the response!
I actually support the PC’s and am expected to support the applications running on the PC’s, even if I don’t really know them. I rely alot on these forums till I get to know the programs.

It’s actually my clients that are trying to do this. Supposedly it worked on the older version of Photoshop they were using before I started supporting them (they aren’t sure what version that is though).

I’m no expert with Photoshop (just played around with v5 when I was younger).

I did a search of the forum and found a few things that didn’t really relate, and one that suggested opening it in Infranview. Unfortunately, the network admins and security people here will not allow ‘unauthorized’ software on the pc’s, and refuse to authorize it due to it being freeware/shareware. So that’s a no go.

Mark,

Some ideas..:

I assume that the update you refer to is : "Adobe Photoshop 9.0.2 update for Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Windows". If you click ‘Help->About Photoshop’you do see v 9.02, right?

Is this happening with all PDFs or just some?

When you open a PDF in PSCS2 there’s an option to ‘Suppress Warnings’. Does this option help?

Don’t give up on this issue Mark. Using the touch up tool in acrobat to send images to photoshop should work. It is a very important part of our workflow. Not being able to "touch up" certain indexed color images is a big problem. I have been told by Adobe support that Adobe is well aware of this as a bug, and has fixed it in CS3. I would love for you to find out when the established customer base of CS2 users can expect a fix.

If it’s been fixed in CS3, that’s the fix. Not every bug gets squashed when it’s discovered and in many cases it can’t be without pouring too many resources into it.

Once a new release is out, Adobe stops issuing updates on prior releases.
