We are on Windows XP using Photoshop CS2. Every time we try to "Save As" and turn a file into a Jpeg, or rename a Jpeg from within Photoshop, the file corrupts becoming unreadable unless we "Save As" twice. We also notice that the file name will not contain the extension ".jpg" until the second "Save As". Is this a network problem or a software glitch? This is a school setting with networked computers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are you working and saving locally? Working over a network is not supported by Adobe, much less saving over a network.

We are working locally (programs loaded on computers) but saving to a remote server.

G,

Not good;(
Try working saving locally then transfer when saved.
This is the sort of problem that you see on some networks but not on others, too many variables, network traffic, permissions, collisions etc., HTH
