I’ve notice that some layer styles do not change when using the history brush and going back to before the styles were set. Is there a way to remove layer styles using the history brush, or is this a bug? Feature? Problem on my end?

If a layer has a Layer Style applied it will be there no matter what you do to it, unless… you add an empty layer and Merge. But then of course it will be rasterized.
