since adding the RAW plugin, loading a jpg freezes PS 7.01

Since incstalling the RAW plugin, whenever I attempt to load a .jpg file which has not been previously saved in PhotoShop, PhotoShop 7.01 will freeze with a abnormal program termination runtim error.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, found a solution
