I just purchased a Toshiba laptop which has a Celeron 2.2 GHz processor with 512 RAM. Have not taken it out of the box yet. I currently use a Dell 2.0 GHz processor with 512 RAM for PS.
My question is this: Is the Celeron going to be fast enough to work with PS? (I had previously used a Pentium III with 500mhz and had no problems with PS6)
Thanks in advance.

It certainly will be fast enough. While it takes a hit in performance over the Pentium 3/4 processors of the same clock speed due to a more limited cache and a few other design differences, 2.2 ghz of any Windows compatible processor is well above the minimum system requirements for Photoshop and I would say that 512 megs of ram is probably plenty if you aren’t running a dozen other processes on the system at the same time while working on large images.
