Hey,

I need to save an image to .png to be able to print it elsewhere. I originally put in image dimensions in mm. Problem is, when I save the image as png (or any other format), and then print it from an application that isn’t Photoshop, the print is smaller than the desired dimensions originally given in mm. When printing directly from photoshop, everything’s perfect.

What am I to do?

Why do you need to print off a PNG? (transparency?) PNG format is usually used for web display purposes.Still doesn’t explain the differences in printed size though. In PS printed size is a function of pixel dimensions divided by resolution. Example a 3000 * 2400 image @ 300 ppi will print at 10*8 inches using PS. I’ve seen these print at screen resolution,(c72ppi) if allowed, via window’s picture and fax viewer resulting in an image that spanned several pages. What you could be seeing is the printer driver adding its two cents worth to the printing process (Epson drivers assume all images are 720 ppi)
