Hi All… hoping someone can help me out on this one….
I scan documents into CS2, saving it in photoshop first as a tiff. so I can later edit in InDesign as needed. I use a HP 4890 scanner (flatbed). Some documents are color, so I use the color setting, others are in black ink, so I use the Black and white setting. I scan at the 300 dpi the machine recommends ( i get a message saying the document may not look as good as what the machine picks for dpi if I pick a different dpi). Ok… so I have a black ink form that needs a couple of lines of type changed, so to do this, I scan it in as black and white….save in photoshop as a tiff so that when i import it into indesign, I can actually do editing…. What happens after the changes is this… the whole form prints out fine, but…. the type has thickened up considerably almost to the point of being unreadable (small type on form) and also being rejected by client.
My question is this: Is there a way to import and do the editing so that the type stays the same thickness as the original when printing? Maybe save as
something other than a tiff to start with? (a psd doesn’t allow you to make changes in In
Design)
I appreciate any eye deers….. As you can tell, I am new to CS2 and just learning… in fact I am still learning indesign after a year (don’t really use it much, but its very handy when i need it).
