I have to create a font that will be used for an OSD (On-Screen Display) in an ipod-type electronics device.
Long story short, i am trying to use an existing font and to convert it into a bitmap image, each character at a time. However there are some requirements, and i need to specify the number of horizontal pixels and the number of vertical lines for each BMP file. Is there any way i could do this using photoshop? or do you recommend another software for this task? thanks a lot.

You can specify an image dimension in pixels when you create a new image. File>New.
