HELP! new to photoshop

I got photoshop to edit some of my gaming pictures but im stuck and I need some help. I want to take one picture and place it onto another (for example taking the head of one person and placing it on the body of another). Im new to this program and I dont know what to do so can someone give me some advice? Thanks!

Open the two pictures

Drag one picture on top of the other … it will make a new layer

Use the eraser tool to remove the bits of the one picture on top.

Use the edit>scale tool to size things to make them fit.

Your first ones will look like crud, probably, but over time you will learn. Photoshop is not a program one masters in 24 hours.

This is going to sound really stupid but I opened the two pictures and I dont know how to drag them onto eachother, I moved it onto it but nothing happened.

Ok I was able to drag the image onto it but the pictures are different sizes (one 50% and the other 100%) so when I drag it onto the other image its too big. How can I scale it down to the right size?

Ctrl-T to Transform. You can pull the handles or input a value in the Options Bar.

See that large key on your keyboard? The one on the right side? You know, the one with a arrow facing to the left? That’s called a RETURN key. See what happens when you hit it… Go ahead, give it a try. It makes your typed text easy to read without having to scroll back and forth across a really wide screen. Isn’t that neat?
