I have an action which has as the last command a Save function; I want to change the location. I cannot seem to be able to change this command, and when I look for Edit actions in Help (After I had to reload help!)I find no reference to Edit except for conditionals in IR.

When I double click this command, I get "The Command Save is not Currently Available", even though Help shows this procedure for "To Overwrite a Single Command".

"Save" command saves the document to original file. To change the file location use "Save As" command:
– In the Actions palette, delete (or just uncheck) the "Save" command – Click the "Save" line (to continue the action from this step) – Click the round button to start recording
– Save your document to new location
– Stop recording (square button)

BTW Here is a flash movie on recording actions < http://simplephotoshop.com/photoshop_actions/recording_actio ns.htm>.

Thanks, Andrei. I was trying to click the last line and it wouldn’t work. I pretty much figured out that I would have to change everything after "Save" as the only way to do it.

But wait! There’s more!

I had a series of images I wanted to save to a different file after performing some adjustments to the image. If you go to batch and use the Action, batch allows you to save it elsewhere. In fact, it demands you pick where to save, and overrides the Save portion of the Action.

Either that or it saved it in both places.

Better go check. 😀
