I’ve noticed this problem in multiple versions of Photoshop on Windows (Vista, XP, etc.). At random times the Painting Cursors will change from the selected setting to the crosshair version. Trying to change them back in the Preferences dialog has no affect. Usually closing and restarting Photoshop clears this up but often it doesn’t.

Has anyone else had this problem and/or knows how to correct it? I find it very frustrating when I’m trying to do precise artwork. Trying to use a 100 pixel brush but only seeing a crosshair is quite difficult.
