my line art scans tend to look like jagged lines instead of the smooth inks i have on paper how can i correct this before i color my line art

For line art, make sure you have scanned with a very high resolution (at least 600 ppi, and preferably higher (1200 or 2400). This may get rid of the "jaggies" completely, at normal viewing levels. You can also try using the Smart Sharpen filter.

The best resolution is one that matches exactly your output device.

You also want to be certain to save your final file in bitmap mode and not greyscale mode
