How to link data from a spreadsheet to a photoshop image.

I am using photoshop CS2 and windows XP

I have 100 images in photoshop. On a spreadsheet (microsoft Excel)I have a list of the image numbers in the first column and next to the number in the next column is the persons name. I want to run an action to take the right name against the image number on the spreadsheet and place this on the image in photoshop.

Can you help with how to create this action/macro interlinking the two software programs.

You can save the spreadsheet to comma-delimited and use the "variables" feature. Look in the help file under "variables" and "data-driven" or something like that.
