I trashed my preferences by holding the buttons of shift, ctrl, and alt when starting the photoshop.

After I deleted my preferences, I reboot my notebook and start the photoshop. And I still cannot type any letters and even worse my shortcut buttons are not working anymore.

Did you get a dialog box and click it away before Photoshop started?

Does your keyboard work OK in Windows and other applications?

Yes, I saw a dialog box pop up after i hold down the shift, ctrl, and atl buttons, and i click "yes" to deleted my preferences.

And also yes, my keyboard is working without any problem and other application like adobe illustrator.

In post #3, you were advised to reinstall PS, but you have not yet responded to that.

Have you installed any new fonts, or installed a new program that may have installed fonts?

You may need to do a repair install of Windows.

Oh… I see! I did not reinstall PS yet…
I did not install any new fonts, but I did Install Adobe Acrobat 8, Adobe Illustractor CS2, and Adobe InDesign CS2.

That’s all I installed.

I will reinstall PS now!

I un-installed & re-installed the PS already and its version is back to 9.0! Besides, my shortcut keys are not working and the performance is somehow very slow.

What should I do now?

Do you happen to be using any Mozilla products? Firefox, Mozilla, Thunderbird, etc

Yes, I’m using Firefox 2.0!
Is there any problem about it coz I did not have this problem on Photoshop 7 even with firefox installed.

Firefox never gave me a problem!

Of course when you re-install a program you have to re-apply the patches. They are not on the CD!

The same way you did the first time around

You may need to redownload them if you haven’t kept them

Yes, it’s most likely you downloaded the patches from the Adobe website. They’re still available so just do that again.

As I said before:

You may need to redownload them if you haven’t kept them
