I have got PhotoShop installed on 4 PCs in our studio (3 of which are running 9.0.2). On the 9.0.2 installs, if I minimize PS to the taskbar and leave it for a few minutes then when I return to it I cannot get it to restore (with the normal method of clicking the taskbar button). In order to get it back up, I have to right-click and choose restore. This does bring it back and PS works perfectly otherwise but it is a massive pain.
Any ideas? Is there a patch anywhere?
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere before, I have searched but photoshop, minimize & restore are very commonly put together (apparently) 🙂
And I am going to smash my PC into tiny little pieces, then puree the remnants in a blender and feed that to whoever is near me the next time it happens.
I can’t bear it anymore 🙁
I tend to drag files from Windows Explorer onto the tashbar button, then into PS and that doesn’t work if PS locks down there 🙁 🙁 🙁
You might try going through your running tasks in Task Mgr and ending them one by one until you see what’s keeping PS from maximizing. This technique may or may not work, but it’s worth a shot. Just don’t pull the plug on running Windows processes unless that’s all you have left.
(I am thinking that if we all see what is running we might find a common problem). I generated this list by opening a cmd (Start > Run > cmd) and typing tasklist, then copy & paste into forum…

Had to laugh, when I went to PS to see the version it wouldn’t open so I had to right click and maximize. Anyway, 9.0 here but I couldn’t get the tasklist to open in cmd. Say’s tasklist is not recognized. Marion
RE tasklist: which version of Windows are you running. FYI: I would have thought anything from Windows 2000 upto WinXP Pro SP2 should support tasklist. I’m not sure about WinXP Home and I strongly suspect that Win9x – WinME won’t support it.
