I thought the old program CS would be swallowed up by CS2 when I installed the newer version, but it is still there. So I have all the four: Photoshop CS, Image Ready CS, Photoshop CS2, and Imageready CS2. Can’t I uninstall the older versions to make more room on my hard drive? Thanks.

Sure. If you upgraded, be sure you have the installation cd for the first PS you purchased full price.

And say "no" when un-installing and are asked to remov shared files.

Lawrence, one seems to not need a full version, an upgrade CD will suffice. Otherwise, if for instance you had 6, then upgr 7, then upgr CS2, you wouldn’t be able to upgrade to CS3.

Yes, Rob’s right.

I’ve been doing it since Version 3.0.

Not true. Many of us here have been upgrading since 3.0. I wouldn’t even know where to look for the floppies that came on.

While I don’t advocate trashing software, keeping just the last couple of versions is fine, especially if you’ve registered your software.

The upgrades do not look for a prior FULL purchase.

And even if you found them, how would you get your new computer to read them?

Easy. Install a 3.5" drive in it. Here in Amsterdam they cost less than 5 Euro’s.

I like to be able to say "yes" to a client who ask if I would be able to rescue an image off a floppy.

Don’t laugh, but I also have two 5 1/4" drives on the shelf!

Just make sure all actions and plug-ins that work in your older versions work in the newest before you zap the older Photoshop.

I stand corrected.
