I’ve used Photoshop for years and always saved any files that had type on layers as eps files and the "include vector data" box was always there to check. This morning I "placed" an eps that was created in Illustrator. Everything about the logo was vector outlines. However, when I went to save this photoshop file as an eps the "include vector data" box was grayed out and uncheckable. Why? I am using CS2.

I think it’s related with your illustrator settings (i you weren’t asked "how to place" the file when placing, sure it is).

You should have been offered to paste as pixels // as form (or path, not sure now) // and (Behold!) as intelligent object.

Do use intelligent objects, you’ll discover a new world.

Search your Illustrator help. I cannot tell you the exact settings now (I am not using it now). It’s something in the clipboard preferences.
