Just upgraded from Win98 to XPsp2
system is an ASUS terminator with 500m ram
video is dual head with one the SIS chipset video and the other an ATI Radon 9250
All other programs Wordperfect, Win office, etc… all work fine
Photoshop 5.5 (5.0 also, I upgraded) starts to load and then displays the error
"Adobe Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close" AppName: photoshp.exe AppVer: 5.0.128.0 ModName: photoshp.exe ModVer: 5.0.128.0 Offset: 00468fc1
There is a large data dump if anyone would like to see it.
Changing the COMPATIBILITY properties to "run in w95 or w98" allows photoshop to load but when attempting to open a 1.8m jpeg, file this error occurs:
"Could not open the document because of a disk error"
Interestingly, ImageReady can open the file just fine???
Opening a small GIF in PS works OK, however attempting to print results in the error "Could not complete the Print command because of a disk error"
Apparently all of these errors occur fairily frequently based on my Google search. I don’t see solutions.
Any help out there???
Michael
