When up loading progressive jpgs to Flash Cards, hand held multimedia hard disks or mobile DVR’s progressive jpeg-images will usually not display.

To "clean up" an image data base of thousands jpeg-images I need to identify a few per cent on progressive jpgs before I can convert them back to baseline jpgs and not convert all the jpeg-images in a batch operation in order not to lose quality in another "open and save file cycle"

Does anybody have experience or ideas to how an easy identification can be done on progressive jpgs?

Not in Photoshop that I know of, but in Irfanview under Image>Info the compression type is shown.

I don’t know how but it might be possible to batch or detect in mass somehow.
