I am trying to create an action that will allow me to move a small image into a stock background, and I have to do this with about 75 photos. Since they are all to be placed into the exact same background, in the exact same place, and the saved as individual file names, I figured that an Action would do this for me. However, I cannot figure out how to move to an exact x y coordinate. Can anyone help me with this? It is a HUGE job to do to the individual files.

Thanks,
Susan

Use Transform to move the object to a certain position. The Options Bar has fields you can enter the correct numbers into.

I tried to use the Transform to type in a precise location; however, when I ran the action on the next photo, the actions palette converted the exact location to a relative position. It is very strange. Thanks for you help though!

I could not tell from your reply if the Transform method got you over the hump. (Good suggestion, Ed. I hadn’t considered that possibility.)

If not, click my name above and send me an e-mail. I’ll send you an action I just wrote (and info on how to customize it) that I believe will do the trick. Depending on your circumstances and requirements it "may be possible" to apply the action via Automate > Batch for a one-click, go-get-coffee, when you come back they’re done operation.
