Hi,
I’ve done a search but can’t seem to find an answer for this one. I have a photograph (of the ocean) that I am trying to add text to for a website that I have just begun.
If I don’t save it with high in "save to web", the text becomes very blurry. Problem is, the pic is quite large and i am trying to keep the download time reasonably low.
Can anyone suggest (in either photoshop or illustrator cs2) a way to make sharp text without the blur?
Appreciate any advice, thanks!
Nic

The best advice is don’t include the text with the image. Use HTML text.

You can use the image as a background image to a <div> and the HTML text over the top of it.

Thanks Len,
Problem is I want the text to be just a little bit fancy and don’t know that HTML text will completely pull it off on all screens…

In that case, "slice" your image into two or three, and keep the part with the text at a higher quality level than the rest.

Another approach is to explore the Options hidden here, which allow the text layer to be saved at a higher quality than the background.
