CS3 Photoshop looks like it will take over my entire PC if I install it.

Are there any Payloads which could be considered optional, and deleted before doing the install…

Sounds like you need a new hard drive.

Samples, the free fonts, the help file, the filters, the pantone colors, lots of stuff could be considered optional to some people, although they would be necessary for others. And what Buko said.

I have released quite a bit of space by manually deleting all the foreign language duplicated files. It annoys me, when I specify US-EN as the language, that Adobe then dumps duplicate support files for every other language on my HD.

What would be really nice is for the Adobe installer to have the ability for me to choose what I do and don’t want to install. For instance, I could well do without the Stock Photography.

I agree, Photoshop CS3 installs a lot of stuff that tons of people not need, it also reflected in the time it takes to run the setup which is very long, in that same time I can almost install the OS and I’m not kidding.

I uninstalled Photoshop CS3, then I found a hidden folder that they left in C:, with about 350 mb! I deleted that one. And now I found another folder left by Adobe in Windows (C:\WINDOWS\payloads\) with 500 mb!!! Adobe thinks that my harddisk is for storing these useless files? I coundn’t start my antivirus because I had only 100 K free space thanks to Adobe!
