Hi,
Next week I’m travelling interstate to meet a client to finalise pic selection for a large manual. I will be preparing contact sheets of all the possible pics (several CDs worth). However, the contact sheets do not give any indication of the size/resolution of a pic. From the contact sheet, I have no way of knowing if any of the pics that the client selects are big enough for their intended purpose, ie to cover an A4 page. Is there any plugin/script for Photoshop/Bridge that will also show the size of an image (at say 300dpi)on a contact sheet?
Thanks
Chris

As a work-around you could use the "sort by size" facility in Bridge to put all similar sized images on the same sheet(s).

Thanks for the suggestion Chris but I would still need to know the image size (@300dpi) to know if a particular pic could be used for a particular purpose, ie full size/half size/quarter size A4.

I realize that, Chris. There may well be a script available – or that could be written to do just that (try the scripting forums).

What I suggested is what I would do given the time available before the meeting with the client.

One set of sheets would have "up to A6", the next would contain all the "up to A5", then "up to A4" – and so on.

It’s just a quick cheap and cheerful workaround. A good script writer would without doubt come up with a more elegant method but I doubt you’ll find an "off the shelf" solution.

Thanks Chris,
I’ll take up your suggestion and try the scripting forums. Cheers

A wild guess: can a lightroom user say if such function exist in that software?

Yes,

LR can be configured to do what you want with a contact sheet–that is you can provide ‘dimension’ info (you can correlate that to your present info) or by using ‘rating’ codes (that is if you have predefined sizes in your collection).

LR’s contact sheet feature is relatively full featured with respect to info choices.

Hope this helps.

Hi PECourtejoie and Don,

Thanks for your suggestion about Lightroom – I’ll check it out. FYI, I received another response from the scripting forum from Xbytor that may be of interest to you.
