I am working on a multi-page birth announcement. My typography is not too good, so I thought I would solicit suggestions. We are not going too much for a bunch of "cutsie" fonts. The name is Biblical and the look is to be somewhat esoteric and eye-catching, but not wild. A couple of decent fonts for the text would be nice. In the past I have used Avant Garde and Century Schoolbook, and an example heading would be Marigold. I have about twice as many fonts available to me now.

Thanks!
Tony

Buko and Dave,

Thank you for your input. Comic Sans is both too common and not quite the right feel for what I am working on, but I appreciate the input!

Thanks,
Tony

I did not find that either on fonts.com or on the first page of google. Do you have a link?

Brioso was the freebie for registering CS. A really nice font that I’ve used many times.

Anthony…

The OpenType Brioso font family was offered as a gift for purchasers of PS CS1, I think.

BTW…Most folks visit the AdobeForums.com forums (for discussions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.—NOT the former Macromedia products) using a browser, and as such can follow a thread pretty easily without excessive quotes. Since it appears you’re visiting with a newsreader, could you please turn of the Auto-Quote feature? If you feel you need to, you can selectively quote a previous response manually.

Neither Briosos or Brisio — I found it as Brioso (Brioso Pro). Thanks! — Tony

Cute. The font is incredibly versitile. Here’s a newsletter I did a while back:

Not exactly high budget but Brioso is the only font used.

Doubly interesting:

1. Had younot told me and I looked quickly I would have guessed at least two fonts were used.

2. I used to live in Scotch Plains, NJ and did LAN engineering in the past for Warren Twp. schools…small world made smaller through Photoshop! 🙂
