Hi. I have always understood from reading other post and even from a recent one I made, that Graphic Card memory is not an issue as Photoshop does not use it to perform functions, only to show the display.
However, I have seen it shown that CS3 needs AT LEAST 128MB Graphic Card. As I use the Matrox G550 which has just 32MB,I am now concerned about this.
Having been a great supporter of Matrox Graphic Cards for 2D (ARE THERE ANY BETTER?) I feel I would like to keep with Matrox. As I am using an ASUS P4PE motherboard, I can only have AGP. So choice is the Pahella series 128MB or 256MB Ram or even maybe the P650 64MB.
I welcome comments on this subject of Graphic Cards to use with Photoshop as it seems to be an often overlooked, but important subject that is perhaps needed far more now than with early versions of Photoshop.
All the best, Ron dps.
PS I also will use Lightroom.
