I’m noticing very sluggish behaviour with CS3 working with files of 300 – 400+ mb. Turning on a curves layer can take 1+ second to show changes on screen, adjusting a slider in Hue Sat takes 1-2 seconds to see changes on screen. Same files on same system with CS2 do not show this slow behavior.

I have played with memory allocations, cache levels, large tiles, etc without making any difference. We have implemented most of the Adobe suggested performance tweaks suggested. Same behavior on two different machines in the office. Anti-virus software turned off.

Please, any suggestions?

David,

What’s the file format, bit depth, and layer content like in your file?

File format: psd and tifs
8 bit
Layer content usually is 5 – 10 layers, some pixel layers and some adjustment layers, no type layers, no smart object layers
