Hello- I’m running 7.0 on XP and I have quite a few Photoshop plugins on my system. Suddenly only half of them appear on the FILTERS menu. As you know, they display alphabetically in the menu, and presently only plugins A-I appear in the list. (Plugins whise names begin with J-Z have disappeared.) I have deleted preferences, re-installed Photoshop, and moved the missing plugins to a new folder, but to no avail: still roughly only half of them appear. What makes this even more mysterious is that when I open ImageReady, ALL the pluins are properly displayed! Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks, DB~

Sounds like you added a few too many (normally that happens when you try to load thousands of FilterFactory spewed plugins).

One and All- I upgraded and the problem still exists. Too many plugins might be the answer, but why did they all appear normally on my menu for an extended period of time, and then SUDDENLY disappear? If too many plugins are the problem, I would think that they would have disappered from the "get-go."

Too many plugins might be the answer,

I don’t know why it would manifest suddenly as you proclaim, but too many plug-ins is not a good thing. Just as too many fonts can cause problems, so will plug-ins.

Here is a link to PlugIn Commander (available both freeware and professional version). I use the freeware version and it works quite well at allowing me to activate/deactivate plugins on the fly. It may or may not solve your problem, but it is still worth the effort if you have a collection of plug-ins as I do (somewhere around 500).
