This is the message that I get everytime I start Photoshop:

"The monitor profile LG204WT appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software"

And I am afraid that I don’t know how to do that. I have searched the disk for calibration file but cannot find any.

If I set the Color Setting to North America General Purpose 2 all my picture show up a biege color or a kind of a vintage.

If I change the Color Setting to Custom and select Monitor RGB LG204WT it clears up the pictures but always get the above warning.

I know that I can shut off the warning but, I would rather fix the problem rather than ignore it.

I am trying out Photoshop CS3. (It is also the same with Photoshop CS2.) My monitor is an LG204WT widescreen. with the latest drivers. My Video card is a ATI Radeon X300 Thank You!!!

I dont know if this will cure your problem but I had almost the same issue. Instead of using the North American settings, I changed it to Monitor colour. That cured my problem. Try it. What ya gotta loose.

This message instructs you to run whichever monitor calibration program that you own. The profile is located with all the rest of the icc and icm files.

Reloading the drivers will not cure the problem.

For CRT, Adobe Gamma will work.
For LCD, you should use a program such as Colorvision.

I used Colorvision with my CRT (Sony 21") after several failed efforts to print what I saw on the screen. I got the Spyder calibrator etc. I love it and I can now print more or less what I see.

Additionally, the room I work has many different light
settings throughout the day (lots of windows) and I made some profiles to use for general work like writing and
surfing etc. Choosing the profile I’m comfortable with in a given lighting situation has made my eyes much less tired.
