I’ve been reading through the many posts here, but none seem to fit the problem I am facing now. I’ve got Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3. And both don’t install on XP-64bit with different errors.

For photoshop, I get this error:
Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe customer support for assistance. Fatal Error during installation.

For Dreamweaver CS3, the installer window simply disappears.

Anyone care to help? Seems like this is quite a unique problem. By the way, I’ve tried installing these programs on my Windows Vista Ultimate x86 laptop and it works perfectly, but it isn’t something I need in my laptop due to its slow-ness.

Have you got the 64 bit versions of Photoshop and Dreamweaver?

I had the same problem with Photoshop CS3, Dreamweaver CS3 installed ok, on Vista 64 Ultimate. After spending over two hours on the phone with Adobe, they gave me a refund for CS3. Here are some of the things they had me try. Uninstall printers, download the latest drivers, disable firewall and AV. Photoshop would install and then crash when loading palettes/swatches with an error refering to AdobeOWL.dll. Which graphics card do you have? After trying all of the suggestions from Adobe, IMO the problem is with my graphics card a Ge_Force 7900 FX
