Hello,

I thought I might try and consolidate all of the “solutions” into a new, central thread to make this easier for those who come after me. Like many of you, I am trying to install Photoshop CS3 extended. The installer prepares the files, I see the blue setup screen for about a half second and then absolutely nothing… It just goes away, no errors – nothing.

I have tried everything I could find on this board (which follows in summary) and am hoping that perhaps someone has more information. The only thing I have not yet done is wipe out my system and start from scratch. – Luckily for me, I’m a photographer AND a computer geek… But my god, I feel sorry for some people having to go through this.

There was never a beta version of CS3 installed on my computer.

Please help! LOL, frustration is an understatement. Or should I just shelve this thing, wait for Adobe to fix this and avoid a heart attack?

Thank you.

—System Details—
WinXP Pro sp2
AMD Athlon 64
Processor – 3200+
2.00 Ghz, 2gb RAM
60gb free disk space on installation drive
Monitor 1 @ 1200×800
Monitor 2 @ 1024×768
(I meet the other system requirements as well, but they seemed negligible in this issue.)

Currently CS2 and Lightroom installed

—What I have done to date (Not necessarily in order)— Disabled all Anti-Virus software, Spyware, Adware, Firewall, Windows Defender etc. Clean start of Windows with nothing extra running
