I edit a newsletter quarterly in Publisher. We’ve told the person to use 2 colors (black and magenta) but she keeps reverting back. She uses colored pictures which I have to turn into grayscale in Photoshop. Her clipart is in color, so I have to turn it grayscale, then CMYK to put the magenta in. This time I made sure my ONLY color was 100% magenta.
My boss went to make a .pdf of it for press. All hell broke loose. He had to change the commercial printing to CMYK. Then all my magenta copy came out in purple. My clipart came in 4 colors. My black text was not right either.
I went to Photoshop to check on my clipart and lo and behold, each clip had SOME part of CYK in it.
How can I prevent this nightmare from happening again? What am I doing wrong?
Thanx,
Chris
