I noticed that Windows Explorer, PS (open command) and Bridge is not showing the thumbnail or previews from newly created tiff files. This is a real annoyance, because I have to open every image when I have to find one on sight.

Am I missing something?

The old multi-layered 16-bit tiff files are showing just fine.

Windows XP sp-2.

Well, it sounds as if you’re saving the tiff with some setting that’s preventing the preview from being recognized. You checked and played with ordering, MAC/PC, bit layer depth, etc.?

It are multi-layered 16-bit tiff files, without any compression. All files from CS2 are normally vissible and the same way saved on a PC.

Are your tiff files flattened, or are there layers? Some apps won’t take layered tiffs.

Hi Michael, as I wrote above your reply, it are multi-layered 16-bit tiff files. These files were no problem for Windows Explorer with CS2.

Hendrik,

Did you ever find out the solution to this? I have the exact same problem after installing PS CS3. I also find if I save .TIFF files in PS CS2 which is installed on the same pc they also do not now save with previews. Its a bit strange as I havent changed any settings in PS CS2??
