When scanning a large format 4×150 ft cadd drawing and saving it as a .tif, when trying to open it in Photoshop we receive a .tif parsing error. It will, however, open in Kodak Image Viewer.

Any suggestions?

Photoshop does have a maximum size limit (30,000 x 30,000 pixels – I believe that’s the correct number). The file you’re trying to open is likely far too big.

Or the TIFF could have a problem in a section that Photoshop reads and Kodak ignores.

Could it be a variation of tiff that Kodak supports and photoshop does not? I used to have that problem with multipage tiffs.

No, that would have a different error message (unsupported bit depth, compression, etc.).
