I’m trying to run the ADD/REMOVE Program for the CS3 beta release and the uninstaller is keeps throwing up an error.

Here’s the Error Message:
AppName: setup.exe AppVer: 0.0.125.0 ModName: setup.exe ModVer: 0.0.125.0 Offset: 0005938c

I have the release version of CS3 here now, but I keep reading everywhere that you have to uninstall the beta before you install the released version. And I found the CS3 clean up script, but it also says to uninstall before running it.

How do I uninstall if the add/remove program doesn’t work???

You can uninstall Photoshop CS3 by using its installer too. I suggest you to try following things:
1. If you still have the Beta build saved in your machine, you can run the setup again. It will ask you to repair or remove the application. Choose to remove CS3.
2. Once the CS3 is uninstalled, you can run the clean up script to make sure no dirty files are left in your system.

Hope this helps!

When I click the Setup.exe, it’s giveing me the same error. My beta version has expired. I tried putting in my new serial number to possibly go in and deactivate the product to see if that is what’s causing the problem. Well it won’t take my serial number for the Design Suite Premium. So I can’t try that either.

I have a copy of CS3 sitting here on my desk and I can’t install the dang thing. This is really frustrating.

Anyboy else have an idea how to remove the beta so I can install my real copy?

When I click the Setup.exe, it’s giveing me the same error. My beta version has expired.

– Close any applications you have running
– Set your computer clock back to May 1st (or 2nd)
– Open the Beta, DEACTIVATE IT !!
(note you can also re-install the beta if you un-installed it without deactivating it first) – Un-install the Beta
– Reboot (never hurts to reboot often when doing this sort of stuff) – Change the clock BACK to the correct time
– Run the ‘CS3Clean.exe’ tool to get rid of any leftovers (note that you need to install the Microsoft ‘msicuu2.exe’ tool before running CS3Clean. See the CS3Clean readme for details)
– Reboot
– Install the new PS10 and you’re back in business.
