I have about 20 or 30 different sized photos.

I want to downsize and crop them all to 406 x 270 pixels.

Is there a way to create an action in Photoshop that will

1. Resize the width to 406

2. Let me crop the image to my determined height

3. Continue with the action and save for web.

I’ve tried including an "Insert Stop" for step 2 but it stops the whole batch process and the actions won’t start back up.

Any suggestions for this?

Hi Chaunce,
1. In the Action palette, start recording action.
2. Pull down "File > Automate > Fit Image" and set your max allowed width and / or height.
3. Save for Web
4. Stop recording action
5. If necessary, turn on dialogs in the action (to enable customizing size and / or Web optimizing settings)

One question Andrei – how do I turn on dialogs?

Thanks

Chaunce,
– Go to the Actions palette
– Expand your action (if it’s minimized to line)
– Click empty cell next to "Fit Image" or "Export" command to force its dialog when playing the action.
