I have 2 days to figure out the following:

•Make text more 3D-ish like I want it realy realy cool… •I need a golden 3D-ish Anchor pronto.

I’m not trying to make demands, but this is a deadline project!

Okay. Two days…

For your Text, do this: Create a new image with a transparent background (it’s in the New Image Dialog). Add a new layer from the layers pallet. Click on the Type Tool in the tool bar. Type anything you want.

Look at the layers pallet. There’s an "F" at the bottom. That’s layer styles. Start playing.

For your Anchor. Get yourself an image of an anchor. You’ll probably want a transparent background but get what you can get.

Go to the Adobe Expert Center. You have to register but it’s free.

There you can do a search for Styles for Text and you can also find LOTS of gold stuff. There will be actions, styles, and patterns.

Two days isn’t enough time for you to understand completely. Find stuff you like, come back and ask specific questions. Lots of folks here will help.

Peace,
Tony

Tell your boss to sub-contract this job, just to get it off the desk. I’ll do it and bill him accordingly. Financially, it makes more sense.

Then, with the pressure off, you can afford a more methodical approach to learning the software. Gotta walk before you can run, mate.

Two full days (and nights) is enough time to learn IF you have someone there to guide you. If you’re trying to be self-taught, 2 days is enough time to do a couple of tutorials, get frustrated and start searching for a new job.

Give yourself a month of a good 2-3 hours per day practicing tutorials, reading the posts on this site and experimenting on your own.

Photoshop, like Karate, has many students, but very few masters.

Try these tutorials to learn more:
