I then uninstalled and reinstalled it. i keep getting the same message, but then it works fine.
Do a clean install of XP: Wipe the disk, then install.
Upgrade installs of Microsoft OSes are a recipie for disaster…..
kieth, yes you can do it that way. the xp upgrade disk (what I have also) will ask you to temporarily insert the me disk for verification.

I got rid of my previous versions of photoshop (5.0 and 5.5). and now i only have 7.0 installed. Would it help if i uninstalled 7.0 and reinstalled the upgrade? The only problem i have is the two error messages. Photoshop works fine after that. It’s just irritating.
no it sounds like you need an OS reinstall. also when you say "got rid of" i hope you just mean uninstalled and you kept the disks, otherwise you won’t be able to reinstall the 7 upgrade.
