Hi,

I got an Epson R200 photo printer that I’m having some major colors issues with. Basically the photo looks fine on the screen, but all blotchy and dark on the print out. I tried configuring the settings in Photoshop like the Darkroom tutorials said, but that didn’t help very much. I also downloaded and printed Digital Dog’s color test sheet. It looks a bit darker (but still pretty good) when I printed it own right from Microsoft’s Picture and Fax viewer, compared to when I opened it and Printed with Preview in Photoshop CS2.

I noted on Epson’s website that the ICC profiles for CS2 are part of an installer on the CS2 disc, but I am using the tryout version, so I don’t have the required CD. Any idea how I can get that installer?

I know this post is long, but I’ve read through most of the posts I could find, and can’t figure out how to get it to print correctly. Any suggestions could be great.

You need the R200 ICC profiles. They should be downloaded from the Epson website. They are contained in the "P.I.M. II Plug-In v2.2" located here < http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid =29081&prodoid=37368464&BV_SessionID=%40%40%40%40195 8743382.1178604826%40%40%40%40&BV_EngineID=ccdkaddkliehj hmcgemcfjgdfljdfon.0&cookies=no&infoType=Downloads&a mp;platform=Windows&x=25&y=10>.

Have you calibrated your monitor?

Hmm, that link doesn’t work. I tried downloading the P.I.M. II Plug-in v2.2, but when the installer runs it says that Photoshop 6.0/7.0/CS or Photoshop Elements 1.0/2.0/3.0 is not installed, so the plugin will not install. I read on the Epson website (can’t find the link now) that if I have CS2 I need a file off the CD (info Here < http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?BV_ UseBVCookie=yes&noteoid=18121>)

I tried doing the Adobe Gama settings, but got confused, then noticed that the digital darkroom tutorial said that Adobe Gama is not very useful for LCDs (which I have).

Can anyone provide me with the file off the disc?

Thanks for the help, I did manage to get the download from someone, and the prints do look better. I’ll let you guys know if there are any more problems.

Thanks again.
