clone brush problem in photoshop CS

My clone brush was working fine, but now when I clone it does not clone the area in the same color, but clones the area much darker, almost black. Did I mess up a setting somewhere or is this a bug in the program. I am a newbie, so I may be missing something simple, but I can’t figure this one out. Thanks

In the Options bar, the Mode may be set to something other than Normal, or you may have set the source (via Alt-click) on a different layer.
