Hi guys.

I’m looking to produce the Bluetooth logo [just the ‘B’ thingy icon bit] and give it a neon look. I’m guessing I need to create a vector version first [though that’s more of an Illustrator thing right?], though I’d need to use PS – I got CS1 – to add filters etc for the neon part [I’ve printed me some tutorials for this, though any help would be great].

But how can I produce the ‘simple’ B shape in PS?

If anyone got any links to vector Bluetooth logos, that would be even better!!!

Cheers

any links…

Typing Bluetooth logos into Google would be a good start. <http://www.parrot.biz/uk/press/logos>

then investigate the Neon Glow filter in Photoshop.

I did try Google images Chris but couldn’t find anything to a good enough quality – though my plan has now changed, I’m leaving the neon look and just need a regular Bluetooth logo. Cheers for that link mate, the tiff/jpegs seem much higher res than I could find – though as I’m using them on a poster so will see how they look once I’ve increased their size.

I’ll give the official Bluetooth sites a go to – though a vector logo would still be what I now need 🙂

Certainly, if you are looking to go up to poster size, you’ll need a vector graphic.

However, Look at that logo. The "B" itself doesn’t have a single curve in it. Therefore it would be fairly easy to construct a new one at finished size using the rectanglular shape tools. The oval(ish) button should also be fairly easy to do.

If I was tackling this, I’d enlarge the sample logo to use as a guide and build a new one on top of it.

Best of luck.

Chris.

(By the way. I assume you’re okay with the copyright side of things on this job)

There are a number of eps versions of the Bluetooth logo available to download on: www.brandsoftheworld.com.

If you do a lot of work with logo’s (as I do) this can be a valuable resource, another way is to find pdf’s (company reports, advertising etc) that can be opened in illustrator and the logo pulled from that.
