Hey everyone,
I’ll start by pasting a message I posted on the Extensis Forums:

Hi all,
I’m using Portolio 8.1.0 (Client Edition) on Windows XP to manage a rather large database of logos.
Due to the nature of the work we do, the logos have to have a transparent background thus all logos are saved as .png files.
I currently use Photoshop 7 to grab the logos and manipulate them.. However, despite setting my Photoshop 7 preferences to set everything to RGB, when I save the .png and update/sync the folder in Portfolio it messes up the colours. They bleed into each other on a transparent background.
I actually have to manually put the PNG back into photoshop, where it sometimes, but not always, prompts me to change to RGB despite being set to do this automatically. I then have to select the transparency, clear it again and save once more. Only then when I update in Portfolio does the .PNG look correct.
Okay. Okay. I know this is ACTUALLY a problem with Photoshop (Probably!), but I was just wondering if anyone had any tips to get the New Image to be RGB the first time around instead of having to go through all the hassle.
Thanks in advance.

I didn’t get a reply. Obviously, it’s probably because it isn’t exactly an issue with Extensis Portfolio 8 (Although, support for CMYK would be nice.)
I would like to know if it’s possible in Photoshop 7 to permanently set everything to RGB so the above never happens? I’ve been in the preferences and toggled all the things I can think of, but it doesn’t seem to actually work/set the PNG to RGB until I reload the image, clear the transparent piece and regenerate the thumbnail.
I’m actually screenshotting the logo and pasting it straight into a new document in Photoshop…
Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
